CPA candidates will need to complete a total of 150 semester credit hours, including an additional 6 semester credit hours of upper-level accounting courses to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam.

The TWU School of Management attempts to ensure that all accounting and non-accounting business classes offered are accepted by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy for CPA Exam credit. The combination of the TWU BBA/Accounting and TWU MBA/Accounting degrees is designed to provide all courses needed under current requirements. However, the State Board can and does make changes in course requirements / course acceptance as the Board deems appropriate. In addition, TWU may offer elective courses from time to time that do not meet any specific requirements set forth by the Board. Students are subject to all Board changes until the student receives an official letter from the State Board indicating that the student has fulfilled all requirements. Each individual interested in becoming qualifies to sit for the CPA Exam must work with the State Board to determine her/his full eligibility for the CPA Exam.
