The Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies, offered through the College of Arts and Sciences, is a multidisciplinary program that provides versatility for adult learners and part-time students who need a flexible curriculum designed to balance work and life responsibilities with educational goals. The degree may be completed 100% online or in a face-to-face format on the Denton campus.
Concentration areas may be selected from the following disciplines:

- Computer Science Concentration
- Criminal Justice Concentration
- English Concentration
- Health Studies Concentration
- History Concentration
- Mathematics Concentration
- Multicultural Women's & Gender Studies Concentration
- Political Science Concentration
- Psychology Concentration
- Sociology Concentration
- Visual Arts Concentration
Concentration areas may be selected from the following disciplines with approval from the program coordinator:
- Dance
- Human Development and Family Studies
- Human Services
- Kinesiology
- Music
- Natural Sciences
- Professional Education
For these concentration areas to be considered for the Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies, students must have already successfully completed at least 12 semester credit hours of 3000- or 4000-level courses in the discipline.
The program may allow additional concentration areas on a case-by-case basis and with departmental approval. Students must have completed at least 12 semester credit hours of 3000- or 4000-level courses in the discipline for any additional concentration areas to be considered.
Marketable Skills
Defined by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's 60x30 Strategic Plan as, "Those skills valued by employers that can be applied in a variety of work settings, including interpersonal, cognitive, and applied skills areas. These skills can be either primary or complementary to a major and are acquired by students through education, including curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities."

Major/Emphasis
Total semester credit hours for major courses: 36 semester credit hours divided between two or three concentration areas. For two concentration areas, students must complete 18 advanced hours in each of the two concentrations. For three concentration areas, students must complete 12 advanced hours in each of the three concentrations. Concentration area courses must be 3000-4000 level. Students will take MDS 4003 and complete a focused capstone project related to their concentration areas. A grade of C or higher is required in all concentration area courses.
