Occupational therapy is a healthcare profession whose members work to foster full participation in everyday life for persons with physical, cognitive, emotional, or societal restrictions. Occupational therapy is based on the premise that engagement in real-life activities in prescribed areas with specific goals promotes health and wellness.

To enter a career as an occupational therapist, a graduate degree is required. Please refer to the Graduate Catalog for a full description of the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program and requirements for application. In addition, The School of Occupational Therapy offers an Alumni Advantage for high-performing graduates from selected majors at Texas Woman’s University.
