Credit By Examination, AP, CLEP, IB

Students entering Texas Woman’s University may be able to gain University semester credit hours for examinations. There are several types of examinations that may earn college semester credit hours with a minimum score requirement. They include:

  1. The Advanced Placement Program (AP)
  2. The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)
  3. The International Baccalaureate Program (IB)

Semester credit hours will be placed on the student’s permanent record upon admission to TWU, to facilitate advising. Semester credit hours received at another college or university will be accepted to TWU as transfer credits where applicable upon receipt of an official transcript. A student may not receive semester credit hours by examination for a TWU course in which she or he has enrolled. No more than 30 semester credit hours can be received as credit by examination (AP/CLEP/IB). Official score reports must be submitted directly from the testing agency, recorded on an official high school transcript, or by an official student test score report submitted to the Office of Admissions
