Experiential Learning

Guided by the university’s mission and strategic plan, as well as current research on student engagement, Experiential Learning focuses on the enhancement of student learning through a process where students develop knowledge, skills, and values from direct experiences outside a traditional academic setting.

Experiential Learning at TWU bridges theory with practice, and is a dynamic, engaged form of learning characterized by active collaboration; real-world problem solving; hands-on application of classroom theories; in-depth engagement with content; or simulation of skills external to the classroom.

Experiential Learning includes the Experiential Student Scholars Program for students and faculty at all TWU locations.

Experiential Learning is located in the Pioneer Center for Student Excellence on the second floor of the Blagg-Huey Library on the Denton campus.
