Mission
Disability Services for Students (DSS) ensures that TWU students with disabilities have equitable access to TWU classes, programs, and events. We enhance student learning by promoting self-advocacy and partnering with faculty and staff to create a more accessible environment. We seek to advance representation of TWU students with disabilities and establish disability culture as an essential aspect of diversity, vital to society and the TWU community.
The Accommodation Process
Per URP: 01.242 Academic Accommodations for Students, students must self-identify by applying for academic and housing accommodations through myDSS Online and by providing documentation of disability. After submitting an online application for accommodations, students will meet with DSS staff to discuss accommodation needs and determine eligibility. Upon completion of the registration process, students are required to request accommodations each semester using the myDSS online portal. Professors will be notified of approved accommodations via email.
Accessible Parking
All TWU students who park on campus are required to purchase a TWU parking permit. To get an accessible parking permit, please submit the VTR-214 form to the DPS Parking Office in the Oakland Complex. This is the same form submitted to the county to receive an accessible parking placard or license plate.
