Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Health Sciences (Nutrition Emphasis)

The B.A.A.S. in Health Sciences is available for students who transfer to TWU from a community college with a minimum of 15 semester credit hours of WECM (workforce education) and a minimum of 12 semester credit hours of academic courses. Course work must be completed prior to transfer. To complete the B.A.A.S. degree at TWU, students will complete any additional core curriculum courses required for a four-year health sciences degree, 33 semester credit hours in health sciences courses, and any electives needed in order to complete the 120 semester credit hours needed for graduation; 36 upper-level semester credit hours will be required. Required courses for the B.A.A.S. degree are listed below.
Any student admitted to TWU for completion of the B.A.A.S. that decides to change majors will be required to re-apply to TWU for the degree and major desired. In such cases, technical semester credit hours transferred to TWU will be removed from the TWU transcript.
Marketable Skills
Defined by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's 60x30 Strategic Plan as, "Those skills valued by employers that can be applied in a variety of work settings, including interpersonal, cognitive, and applied skills areas. These skills can be either primary or complementary to a major and are acquired by students through education, including curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities."
